Festival del Cinema di Roma 2010

The 5th edition of the Rome Film Festival will take place from October 28 to November 5, 2010 with the whole Eternal City as scenery for the show.
The center of the action will be the Parco della Musica Auditorium - designed by Renzo Piano - and the Villaggio del Cinema.
As in the past, this new edition will be based on a combination of popular vocation and cultural quality. It's a combination that can bring together, in the same event, those with a passion for film and those who have never participated in a festival.
Like every year, the festival will be divided into sections: the Official Selection, with great films and international stars, from which the winner of the competition will be selected; the Other Films - Extra section, which includes documentaries and meetings with famous directors and actors in the halls of the Auditorium; Alice in the City, dedicated to young people, which was very successful with the public and the critics last year; the Focus section which offers various initiatives linked to a single theme, which, this year, is the environment.
This edition's most important events includes a preview of a film by the Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho, The Experimental Witch Project, based on one of his most successful books, "The Witch of Portobello".
An international jury will be chaired by director Milos Forman and will also include the collaboration of the Italian Gabriele Muccino. In addition, it has already been confirmed that the famous US actress Meryl Streep will be attendance to receive the Marc'Aurelio d'Oro award for lifetime achievement.
